FAQ

Everything you might want to know,
before you place an order.

If your question isn't here, send a WhatsApp — we usually reply within a few hours.

Ordering & lead times

How much notice do you need?

Standard bouquets need 48–72 hours' notice. Bespoke palettes or larger orders need 5–7 days. For Mother's Day and Valentine's, please book 2–3 weeks ahead — slots fill quickly. Weddings and corporate orders need at least 4 weeks.

How do I place an order?

Message us on WhatsApp or email alison@thesugargarden.je with: the date you need it, the occasion, the size you'd like (Petit / Medium / Grand), any colour ideas, and any dietary needs. We'll confirm availability and send a quote. Your slot is held once we receive payment.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Changes are usually fine up to 72 hours before collection — just let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations within 48 hours of the collection date are non-refundable, as ingredients will already have been bought and bakes started.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer (preferred) or PayPal. We'll share details when we confirm your order. Payment secures your slot.

Flavours, dietary & allergens

What flavours can I choose?

Vanilla bean, Belgian chocolate, lemon & elderflower, raspberry & white chocolate, salted caramel, coffee & walnut, plus a rotating seasonal. Medium and Grand bouquets can mix flavours.

Do you cater for allergies or dietary needs?

We handle eggs, wheat, dairy and nuts in our kitchen, so we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment. We can produce gluten-free and nut-free bouquets on request — please flag any dietary needs at the enquiry stage so we can confirm what's possible for your date.

How long will the bouquet stay fresh?

Best on the day of collection or delivery. They'll keep beautifully for 48 hours in a cool place (not the fridge — buttercream dries out). After that, the cupcakes are still safe to eat but the piping will start to soften.

Design & customisation

Can I choose the colours?

Yes — colour is one of the things we love most. Share a hex code, a Pinterest pin, your wedding palette, a brand guideline, or just a vibe ("dusty pink and sage") and we'll mix buttercream to match.

Will my bouquet look exactly like the photo I saw?

Each bouquet is piped by hand, so no two are ever identical — but if you've shared a reference, we'll get as close as we possibly can in style, colour and flower mix. Think of the gallery photos as a guide to our look, not an exact catalogue.

Can you add a name, message or logo?

Yes. A handwritten message card is included with every bouquet. We can also add a sugar plaque with a name, initials or a corporate logo for £8. Logo plaques need a clean PNG or vector file and a few extra days' notice.

Collection & delivery

Where can you deliver?

Island-wide across Jersey. Delivery from £6 in central parishes (St Helier, St Brelade, St Saviour), from £10 to outer parishes. Collection from St Brelade is free by appointment.

Do you offer same-day delivery?

Occasionally — it depends on what's in the kitchen that day. Always worth asking, but please don't count on it for a surprise gift.

How should the recipient handle the bouquet on the day?

Keep it cool (not in the fridge), out of direct sunlight, and avoid leaving it in a hot car. The box is designed so they can lift the whole bouquet out as one piece — perfect for photos before sharing the cupcakes.

Weddings & corporate

Do you take wedding orders?

Yes, in limited numbers. We work best as a feature gift — bridal party thank-you bouquets, table centres, or a "welcome" bouquet for the bridal suite — rather than full wedding cakes. Please enquire at least 4 weeks ahead.

Can you do corporate gifting?

Yes. We love working with Jersey EAs and office managers on client thank-yous, staff celebrations and branded bouquets in corporate colours. Get in touch with the number of bouquets, date range and brand colours, and we'll come back with a tailored quote.
